Shoot Report 12th April 2026
Well that was a fun mornings shooting. At the last shoot Darren had set up what he called a technical shoot this one was similar but with a few surprises thrown in. Take the high bird over the top of the trees, this was higher and with the spring wound up quite a bit faster combine this with the rabbit which was moved closer to the shooting point and with the spring wound off, like a rabbit with two broken legs, this did lead shooters to rush their shots when there was no need to. On some of the other stands especially the crossers and quartering ones you had to get your pick up point and more importantly your breaking point correct that’s to say your feet and body position. Although the scores were a reasonable, average 45 to 55 these would had been higher if more attention had been paid to the feet and body position on all stands, think about it before you call pull. Had a chat with a few of the shooters after they had finished and it was interesting to hear that some of the stands were a bit tricky while others found the same ones no problem, maybe it’s that feet and body position I was talking about, anyway there were a few more cards in the mid 60 so some folk were getting it right. We did have the weather gods with us, so a dry but over cast morning plus a bit of wind now and again. Big thanks to Graham.L for supplying the pic’s of you guys. Next shoot is on the 26 th April, hope to see you all back here then.TC
